In 2005 I was rapporteur for the ECON Committee on the services directive and drafted a working paper as well as the opinion on this subject. After my draft opinion on the services directive was changed profoundly to the negative in the vote of the ECON committee I was forced to withdraw my name from it.

Since spring 2007 I have been working as ECON rapporteur on questions concerning the EU tax policy. I have drafted a working paper and a report on this topic.

I publish a newsletter on a regular basis in which I inform about the topics and key subjects of the work in the ECON Committee, about amendments that I have tabled to reports and opinions, about debates and the voting behaviour of the different political groups in the Committee.
